Doug joined his brother John Tatum 16 years ago to serve as Chairman and CEO of Tatum where he led the firm in its National Expansion through 2005 and remained on the firm's Board through 2007. Mr. Tatum currently serves as the CEO of a Private Equity Co-Investment Fund. Prior to Tatum, LLC, Mr. Tatum served as President, an officer and senior level executive at a number of national companies.
Mr. Tatum is a recognized expert on the capital markets, private equity and entrepreneurial growth businesses, having testified before Congress on more than one occasion concerning the financing issues faced by growing companies and US tax policy and as keynote speaker at the Securities Exchange Commission Forum. He is currently touring the U.S. as a speaker presenting to groups of CEO's nation-wide the material included in his just published book No Man's Land: What to do when your Company is too Big to be Small and too Small to be Big - Portfolio (Penguin Group). No Mans Land was recently selected as one of the Best Business Books of 2007 by (this is being researched the list is sponsored by Booz Allen) and is currently being translated for distribution in China by China Press. Mr. Tatum is a graduate of Florida State University where he received his Bachelor of Science - Magna Cum Laude and Masters in Accounting and later also served as adjunct faculty at the business school.
